Visit Norway Event Impact Tool

Visit Norway is the national event unit that coordinates the different destinations and is responsible to promote and develop Norway as a destination for future events. Visit Norway also works to develop the industry, increase competence, include the different actors within the ecosystem and create tools that benefits the event industry in Norway.

Visit Norway commissioned EHE consultants to support in the enhancement of an online tool that is provided by the Norwegian government to all event hosts and organisers. The new event impact calculator will take account of wider sustainability considerations, rather than purely short term tourism. The tool is available online in English and Norwegian HERE.

This project encompassed a series of consultations with Innovation Norway executives and a workshop held in Oslo that was attended by representatives of cities and regions that host international events and event organisers. The session was moderated by EHE consultants and the result was a list of key performance indicators across different areas of impact organised in a scoring spreadsheet. The scoring system was then further refined before being delivered to the web developers who are working in the enhancement of the online tool.
